Jewel Enamel

I Have finally got a quiet weekend planned, so i thought i would get out my Jewel Enamel kit, my what i hear you cry, well i will enlighten you, or at least try.

A while a go I was watching Jewellery Maker TV and there was this jewel enamel kit for sale, after seeing it demoed i had to have one in my life, it arrived and i have to say i have had a few plays and i really like it, it works by heating powder until it melts, mixing various colours then pouring into moulds or bezels, which i have to say is my preferred way of working with this medium, you can also add other things to the liquid such as glitter, gem art, mica powders it really does go on and on, these are just a few of the things that i have come up with so far.

Fab designers out there

It has been a long summer, the kids have finally gone back to school, the twins have started full time, I have stopped doing my happy jig, and am getting down to making some jewellery, but I have to say the brain cells have all turned to mush, so it all started with the weekend when i met a lovely bunch of ladies from West Country Jewellery Makers and the wonderful Mark Smith from the TV channel Jewellery Maker there were demos one of which was by the lovely Laura Binding http://youniqueyou.com/ who is a wizz with wire which those who follow me know i love wire, so she showed some new ideas and these are my makes from her ideas.

Then I bought a pattern from a designer Emily Gray, http://www.etsy.com/shop/emilygrayjewels I love her designs and thought i would have a go at making my own following her pattern, and this is what i came up with, need a lot more practise, i used all swarovski pearls and crystals but i was pleased with what i came up with.

There are some very talented people out there and i enjoy looking at their work and being taught by them, and i hope you enjoy seeing it too thanks for looking.
